Bring a large pot of water to a boil and then cook the spaghetti. Drain the water and return the spaghetti to the pot. While the pasta is cooking, heat a frying pan over medium heat and sauté the sliced bacon in olive oil and butter along with chopped onions without letting them brown, for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Crack the eggs into a bowl and lightly whisk with a fork to form an egg mixture. Add the bacon and onion to the pan with the spaghetti and stir well. Ensure that the spaghetti mixture is warm but not so hot that the eggs solidify instantly! Add the egg mixture along with most of the cheese, and stir until creamy.
