Start by heating the water+salt in a pan covered with a lid

Peel or scrub the potatoes while the water is brought to boil

Put the potatoes in the boiling water using a spoon. The water should just cover the potatoes, add or remove some water to adjust.

Boil under a lid for around 20 minutes depending on what kind of potato you have available.

Use a toothpick or similar to test by end of the cooking time and stop cooking while the core is still firm for the largest potato to avoid over cooking.

Pour the water from the pan using the lid to stop the potatoes from falling out and e.g. a towel to protect yourself.

Allow to steam under a lid until eating time. Top with butter, salt, dill or parsley depending on taste. Keep lid on until serving time
