Begin by preheating the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and placing a frying pan over high heat so that it's hot when the cauliflower is ready to be cooked. Rinse the cauliflower and remove the leaves and the outer part of the stem. Then cut the cauliflower head into four longitudinal sections. Sauté the cauliflower sections on high heat (without cooking fat) until the surface starts to blacken here and there, which enhances the flavor.

Butter an oven-proof dish and place the cauliflower in it. Distribute the rest of the butter over the cauliflower and season generously with cumin, salt, and pepper. Finish by drizzling olive oil over the cauliflower and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over everything.
